Our Chartered Organization is South Oaks Baptist Church, 5925 Highway 287, Arlington, Texas. The troop meets in the Annex located at the rear of the main building, every Monday night 7:00 to 8:30 P.M.
Troop 235 was formed in October 1989. The troop has enjoyed good support from our host church and dedicated parents. During the past nineteen years, Troop 235 has produced 40 Eagle Scouts and made eight expeditions to Philmont Scout Ranch located in Cimmaron, New Mexico. We are actively involved in district and council activities. Many of our scouts are also active members of the Order of the Arrow, including the current 2nd Vice Chief, and also scouts proudly serving on the Yapahi Chapter Indian Ceremonies Team. Troop 235 also has scouts who serve as Den Chiefs and serve on the staff of area summer camps. We also participate in Eagle Scout service projects, Scouting for Food, and Scout Sunday. The troop also annually spends a day giving service to Mission Arlington.
Troop 235 is a boy-run troop. Boy Leaders plan and execute their own program, with parent particapation and support. New Scouts begin with small jobs under the guidance of more experienced Scouts. As their skills and knowledge improve, new responsibilities are given to them. We pride ourselves on being a "Boy Run" troop.
